Before You Freak Out Just Know That You Can Mentally Solve This
In 5 Seconds! But First Breathe.
If the teacher asked you to solve a mathematical question like —
«What is the Square Root of 2.25?» you probably would panic and just give up.
Firstly, you know that a number e.g. «n=64» has a Square Root or number that when it is multiplied by itself gives «n». So here, the Square Root of 64 is 8 because 8×8 = 64.
So when the Teacher throws this algebra at one, just breath in and say that you can do this. To solve this problem, we need to express the Decimal of 2.25 into a simpler or more recognisable form. What is the Square Root of 2.25 does sound difficult at first, but lets change the decimal into a fractional form using whole numbers or integers to make the task easier.
You know that 2.25 is really 2 and 1/4 and in its vulgar form it is 9/4 because 9 divided by 4 gives 2 and 1/4.
We know that the square root of 9 is 3, because 3×3=9
and the square root of 4 is 2, because 2×2=4
thus the square root of (9/4) is simply 3/2 or 1.5 when decimalised,
because 3/2 x 3/2 = 9/4.
Easy. Done mentally, done in 5 seconds… You’re brilliant.
